Sue Ellison, CLLMM RC’s Engagement Coordinator, was front and centre in our booth over the three-day celebration of culture, Country and community on Ngarrindjeri Lands at the Coorong waterfront.
The Centre also supported one of our volunteers, Marina, to attend the festival. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity CLLMM RC gave me to attend the festival. I went in without any real expectations, and I should have known better, given the strong and enduring relationships the CLLMM RC has built with First Nations communities across the region and beyond. My intention was simple; to support the good work CLLMM RC is doing and to spend time in the Coorong with like-minded people. What I found was so much more. The experience was authentic, raw, insightful, and open in a way that stayed with me. It offered a depth of connection and understanding that I didn’t foresee, and I am thankful for it. What struck me most was seeing how deeply CLLMM RC’s work has become woven into the fabric of the region – how genuinely it is accepted, appreciated, and supported by the custodians of this extraordinary place. Witnessing that level of trust and reciprocity was powerful, and it Underscored just how meaningful this work truly is.”
