Ngarrindjer-Ramindjeri-Yaraldi-Tangani Yarluwar Ruwi Dreaming” – My Country My Waterways Dreaming
‘In the dreamtime, Ngarunderi made his way down in Ngarrindjeri Ruwi (country) and along our Yarluwar (sea country) creating our Murray River, Lakes, Coorong, springs, and campgrounds with the help of other ancestral creators Kondoli-Mulyawongk-Nepeli and Narunderi. Wives and sons helped in the creation of Ngarrindjeri lands, waters, our lores, and our Mi: Wi connections. This painting tells of Thukeri (Bream fish) and Pondi (Murray Cod) and our Ngarrindjeri nation.
One of the dreaming stories in the painting tells of Wayungari and Nepele, Ngarunderi and his sons and wife’s as he followed Pondi (Murray Cod) down to Lake Alexandrina.
Wururi (Spider Woman), our Nga:tji can be seen on Kumerangk (Hindmarsh Island)’.
This painting also highlights the CLLMM Research Centre as a gathering place, showing how many of the research projects are occurring and connected across the region.
