The Summer Series of Science starts this week with local insights into Climate Change in the CLLMM Region

Tickets are going fast for the first two events in the CLLMM Research Centres Summer Series of Science.



Q & A Panel Discussion

Friday 29 November Time: 5:30pm - 7:00pm Come along for the Q and A panel with staff from the Alexandrina Council, Coorong District Council, Hills and Fleurieu, Murrayland, Riverland and Limestone Coast Landscape Boards and Department for Environment and Water. They will be presenting on their organisations plans and policies around the challenges climate change poses to the region. There will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in the discussions, before having drinks and nibbles.

Spotlight Speaker - Tim Jarvis AM

Friday 6 December

Time: 5:30pm - 7:00pm

This is going to be an inspirational evening with Tim Jarvis AM.

Tim is an environmental scientist and adventurer committed to finding pragmatic solutions to major environmental issues related to climate change and biodiversity loss.


Tim is also well known for his historically authentic recreations of the Antarctic survival journeys of Sir Douglas Mawson and Sir Ernest Shackleton, Tim is founder of The Fork tree Project, a native revegetation project on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, Global Ambassador and Governor of environmental NGO WWF, Southern Ocean Ambassador to Save Our Marine Life and a Vice President of Flora and Fauna International. He received the Order of Australia in 2010 for services to the environment, community and exploration and has been named South Australia’s Australian of the Year 2024 and has recently been appointed Professor of Leadership Practice at Edith Cowan University.


Drinks and nibbles will be available following question time giving us all an opportunity to mix and mingle. Other Events include:

The Goyder Institute for Water Research will receive $8 million from the Australian Government over 4 years from 2023-26 to work with communities to investigate the impacts of climate change on the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth (CLLMM) region.
