What were we up to this month?

Visit from Encounter Bay Rotary Club​

The Encounter Bay Rotary Club reached out to hear more about the CLLMM Research Centre and its upcoming research and activities. Visitors found the AR sandbox particularly engaging and excited to see what will be next for this tool. 


River Lakes and Coorong Action Group (RLCAG) AGM​

The committee’s chairs, and Acting Premier Susan Close, highlighted the importance of groups such as RLCAG and the importance of investigation in water quality in the CLLMM region. The meeting included guest speakers from Murray Darling Conservation Alliance, Conservation SA and University of Adelaide. More here.


Weaving Indigenous Knowledge Workshop​

The Communications and Engagement Coordinator and First Nations Engagement Officer attended the workshop where the presenter discussed how Indigenous knowledge has been included in the United States governance.


Hosted Hindmarsh Island Landcare Group AGM

The AGM was a great opportunity to connect with landcare group members. Dr Nick Whiterod provided an update on the research program. Members were excited about the opportunities to collaborate with the CLLMM RC.

Dr Nick Whiterod and Dr Tiffany Nay introduced the CLLMM Research Centre, their foundations and the upcoming research program with many community members keen to see updates in the future. Watch this space for more Meningie events!

The Goyder Institute for Water Research will receive $8 million from the Australian Government over 4 years from 2023-26 to work with communities to investigate the impacts of climate change on the Coorong, Lower Lakes and Murray Mouth (CLLMM) region.
